The Brong Ahafo regional executives of the New Patriotic Party has issued a statement to condemn last Saturdays attack on the party’s regional youth organizer Kwame Baffoe at Atebubu in the region.
Reading the statement at a Press conference held in sunyani, Hon. Thomas Adu-Amponsah the Brong Ahafo regional chairman of the party describes the act as barbaric attack perpetuated against the regional youth organizer.
He therefore called on the regional security and for that matter Atebubu district police to expedite action in carrying out the needed arrests and investigations to bring the perpetrators to book. As a liberal democratic party, the new patriotic party believes in the plurality of ideas and opinions and this could be best achieved through the development and utilization of human minds than through the power of bones, sticks and machetes.
According to him, the party’s initial information reveals that Kwame Baffoe was on a peace mission to meeting constituency executives to outline his plans for the party’s impending regional and national elections when the barbaric attack was carried out on him.
Hon. Thomas Adu popularly known as chairman Thoma explained that in a civilized democracy, those who resort to the power of fist, guns, and machetes in making their points are not fit for purpose.
It is in this regard that the regional executives including, constituency chairmen, constituency secretaries, research officers, Members of Parliament are calling for thorough investigations of the matter to ensure that both the attackers and motivators are made to face the law and to help establish and sustaining peaceful political environment for the entire population of the nation and unborn generations.
