The ‘Broferease’ family of the four royal gates of fiapre traditional council in the Brong Ahafo Region has warned that they will resist any attempt by the kingmakers of the stool to over look them in choosing a new chief following the demise of the late chief of the fiapre town Nana Opoku Ababio last year.
According to the family head Nana Yaw Korang, it was their turn to nominate a chief to be installed after all the other three gates have had their turn, but alleged that the kingmakers of the traditional council had settled on one Professor Afuakwa, a lecturer at the University of Ghana and a brother to the queenmother either their candidate Nana Kwasi Nyamekye, a business man domicile in Germany to be installed as the new chief of the Fiapre town.
At a press briefing yesterday at the family house on the issue Nana korang, the family head called on the queemother Nana Amisaa to do the honorable thing in choosing the rightful and deserving heir to the throne to avert any possible clashes and confusion which may emanate from their decision.
He said the situation was creating tension in the area and warned that they would not sit aloof and allow the kingmakers to deny them their rightful inheritance hence are prepared to go at any length to have their candidate installed the new chief of the town.
Nana Korang said they have reported the matter to the police and all those who matters to have the issue resolve but kingmakers are burnt on carrying through their decision hence their decision to go public on the matter.
