The Deputy Minister for Education Hon. Perry Okudweto says second year and third year students in the various senior high schools in Ghana will continue to enjoy their northern and cocoabod scholarships until 2019.
In this course the minister said, government will start the full implementation of the free senior high school in 2019 to benefit all students.
Hon. Perry Okudweto said this in his welcome address delivered at the Town Hall meeting held at sunyani west in the Brong Ahafo Region.
Adding that, the implementation of the policy will capture children who sat for Basic education certificate examination (BECE) as well as those who resat for same examination in 2017.
Government is expected to pay one thousand, one hundred and two CEDI’s sixty seven pesewas for every student who will be captured by the computerized placement selection system.
Students who will be enrol at the vocational and technical schools (TVET) will also benefit the same subventions from the government.
This according to the minister all forms of school fees payments at the senior high schools will be faced out in 2019.
On one district one factory agenda, hon. Minister reveals that out of the 350 applications by private, local and international partners about 80 of them have been approved project secretariat.
Government he said has put 456 million CEDI’s as cede money which is to be use to partner the private sector to implement the flagship policy of Nana Addo’s government.
The opportunity are available at the district levels to chose the preference of the projects for their community.
He encouraged the decentralized unit committee members at the various assemblies to liaise with their MMDCEs to take a cue of what the government has initiated and send the message down to the lowest level in their community.
