TAMAZ Entertainment has launched the maiden edition of The Tertiary Queen pageant in Sunyani.
The Centre for National Culture (CNC) Auditorium will be the venue for the event themed: “Promoting Talents of Females in Entertainment, the Role of Stakeholders, on Saturday, December 05, 2015.
The 12 representatives, 3 each from the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR), Catholic University College of Ghana (CUCG), the Sunyani Nurses Training College (SNTC) and the Sunyani Polytechnic will battle it out to see who wears the crown. They would be expected to market the region through language, culture, music and dance.
According to the Chief Executive Officer of TAMAZ Entertainment, organisers of the event, Ms. Audrey Tindana the contest is aimed at promoting the beauty of women and also help them develop their hidden talents for the benefit of the entire nation. “Again it is to bring students of the various schools together through healthy competition.” She added.
She said the selection of the winner for the pageant will be based on 40 percent of the judges score and 60 percent of public votes and other activities. Ms. Tindana said that, the winner as well as the other contestants will take home mouth watering prizes including laptops and souvenirs from sponsors.
The contestants are Eve, Pat and Vic from SNTC, Vanni, Lyna and Mary from CUCG, Karen, Aisha and Derby from UENR and Phil, Janet and Diana from S. Poly.
The show is being sponsored by Asare Computers, Harris Inn, Ameta Collections, Class 1 Fashion, Fancy Digital Photo Lab and Moonlite Hotel and supported by Space fm, ARK Fm, Moonlite Fm and Shalom Fm.
