The suspect, Abdullai Hussein, also known as Migima who usually goes on his car snatching spree armed with a sub-machine gun was arrested on December 29, 2014.
Another accomplice, Acheampong, who was in possession of a pistol managed to bolt away and is currently on the police wanted list.
In august last year, Abdullai Hussein in the company of four others hired a Toyota Hiace with registration number GT 1727-14 from Mbrom in Kumasi to Mankessim in the Central Region.
Abdullai Hussein and his cohorts on reaching Pekyi No. 2 directed the driver to use the Manso Adobea route and after a few kilometres robbed the vehicle from the driver. On that same day, the suspects were intercepted at Kintampo barrier.
Abdullai Hussein managed to escape but luck eluded the remaining four, Kassim Musa, Oliver Mohamed, Alidu Issifu and Issifu Musah, who were arrested together with the vehicle. They are facing legal prosecution.
On July 4, 2014, Abdullai Hussein together with another batch of criminal cohorts approached a Mercedes Benz sprinter, with registration number AS 6600-14 at Kejetia under the pretext of hiring the vehicle to Wenchi.
They managed to lure the driver towards Berekese and on their way asked to attend to nature’s call, immediately the vehicle stopped Issifu Musah pulled a pistol while Mohamed Oliver also brought out a jack knife and ordered the driver to surrender the vehicle.
Abdullai Hussein and his cohorts tied their victim to an orange tree and sped off with the vehicle.
Unfortunately, Oliver and Musah were later arrested by the police but as usual Abdullai Hussein managed to escape.
